Stripes and Sunshine Yellow Skater Skirt !

On this beautiful bright sunny day I deemed it perfect to pick cheery colours for my Outfit Post : Orange and Yellow. I paired a deep Orange Shirt with Black horizontal stripes and my Sunshine Yellow Skater Skirt.
I wore my new Blue Mirrored Sunnies ,my Jimmy Choo Black Weaved Ankle High Heels with a Neon Yellow Orange Trim and a Snakeskin Texture Box Bag in orange, green and black. I accessorised with a Multi Coloured Stone and Gold Statement Neckpiece and a multi-coloured Cuff Bracelet.
Stripes continue to reign in the current fashion scene and I absolutely am obsessed with the trend too and love this horizontal striped shirt.
One of my other favourite Summer trends is the Skater Skirt- the flared mini high-waisted skirt ,that has become a fashion staple. The style has a trademark cut, it basically comes in fitted at the waistline and then skims over the hips and thighs in the way of a full circle skirt. The length of the skirt is typically designed to fall mid-thigh and it’s splendid for those who love to show off some legs. The Skater Skirt is fierce, sassy, chic, and flirty all gift-wrapped into one adorable high wasted mini. If you love twirling around in a dress/skirt, the skater dress will be the ultimate twirl-inducing dress.

The Birth of the Skater Skirt
It was somewhere in those kitsch & funky ’80′s, when – skating fashion was pretty huge, hence the name of the skirt, inspired by the skating dancers’ styles. I’ve always thought those ice-dancers were the most beautiful and ethereal thing ever, and it’s probably that image that we keep going back to, with the Skater Skirt Trend in 2013 – a sort of multifaceted femininity or careless playful innocent girl, who loves to play dress-up.

Figure Flattering Skater Skirt
This little skirt is probably the most flattering item in your closet regardless of your body type. It adds curves where there’re not, it hides them if it’s the case, creates long legs due to its high waist and mini cut.
The cut of the skirt is perfect for just about any body shapes. If you’re apple-shaped, you can rock the trend. If you’re pear-shaped, you too can look good in it too! For hourglass-shaped gals, you’d be a fan for life as the skater dress will hug you gently around your curves making you look ultra feminine. The high waist at the top and loose flared fit on the bottom creates the illusion of a slimmer waistline and slimmer hips.

I adore this stunning statement neckpiece with multi coloured stones and gold ,that really makes the look pop.
I also accessorised with this Multi coloured Metal Cuff Bracelet and carried this super sleek Snakeskin Texture Box Bag. With the year of the snake finally here, it's time to add a dose of edginess and daring to your wardrobe with snakeskin. Currently taking over runways, this exotic reptile print has sparked a new trend .

My look was perfectly rounded off with my Jimmy Choo Black Weaved Ankle High Heels with a Neon Yellow Orange Trim.

Earn Your Stripes ~ Go Stripey with a Neon Pop!

This spring is all about Stripes, horizontal, vertical, wide or thin, black and white or in living colour, stripes make a graphic statement, day or night. And while we cant think of a time when stripes weren’t in, they are certainly back in a big way for Spring 2013.
That same Breton stripe Coco Chanel brought back to land with her nautical 1917 collection—after spotting the uniform on sailors along the French coast—hasn’t lost its sweeping seaside allure.
Take it from the best designers, this spring from Oscar de la Renta to Michael Kors the runways were majorly about Stripes. Marc Jacobs even dedicated an entire spring collection to stripes.
I absolutely love this Stripes Revolution, but I wanted to style it slightly differently to make the trend really pop and standout. So I layered the look.
I wore a Breton Striped Dress and threw over a Neon Yellow Shirt, wore it unbuttoned and cinched both layers with a Yellow Skinny Belt  and accessorized it with a matching Striped bag and a pretty Sun Hat. Skinny belts which are very trendy can add a final touch for your look. Put the belt on the shirt/cardigan over your dress and you're good to go.

Styling Tips for Stripes

1. You don´t need to be super skinny to look good in stripes all you need to do is find  the right kind of stripes for your body type and they can even make you look thinner.  Remember if you have a wide back do not distort the shape of the line, skip super fitted pieces and wear loose outfits with stripes.
The key to wearing stripes in the real world is to always wear just one print matched with a solid. For example, a vertically striped blouse looks great with white trousers or jeans. Vertically striped pants or skirts can make you look taller and in style when worn with a solid-coloured tee.

2. Accessorise it! Fashion is all about accessorizing, you can wear the simplest outfit but if you know how to combine it you will be always trending! Look for fabulous pieces like belts, simple tops with rhinestones, bracelets and jewellery.

3. Try to combine your stripes  with something simpler, for example; a wide horizontal stripes skirt with a one coloured simple top and a bow belt. Play with the items in your closet.

4. Recycle your own If you have stripes lurking in the back of the closet -- perhaps a scarf, a belt, a skirt, or a jacket -- just pull it out and give it another season of love. All stripes are good stripes, the bolder the better, and any direction or colour will do. Black and white, of course, is especially on trend this year.

Remember this spring is all about Stripes. So dare to wear them, try different kinds of stripes and find which kind of stripes make you look thinner, they actually do! Always keep in mind the wider the stripe, the bolder the statement! Say goodbye to the cliché that stripes make you look fat. Become a Stripey Fashionista this season!
